Storyline
Plot
After enduring years of natural disaster and war, the world is left without its main supply of water; the river that provided water to the country dried up long ago.
With the greedy King of the land's personal water supply becoming increasingly more expensive for the citizens of Sand Land, the people begin to rob one another for water and money.
Tired of the King's greed, Sheriff Rao approaches the demons of Sand Land for help in searching for a new water supply. Fiend Beelzebub and his friend Thief agree to join Rao.
In SAND LAND, you will dive into a desert world where both humans and demons suffer from this extreme water shortage.
Join the Fiend Prince Beelzebub, his chaperone Thief, and the fearless Sheriff Rao, and follow the team in an extraordinary adventure in search of the Legendary Spring hidden in the desert.
Be prepared to face the King and his Army, who will do anything to stop you! But what is he trying to hide exactly … Get ready to uncover this mystery and save the people of Sand Land!
Sand Land
Travel through SAND LAND and its canyons, unveil its secrets, overcome fierce foes, and pave the way to the Legendary Spring.
Explore the world and search every nook and cranny to loot essential materials that will help the team take on harder and harder challenges.
Forest Land
On their quest to reach the Legendary Spring, the bravest team has unveiled a mysterious new world to explore. Beyond the vast desert lies a realm waiting to be discovered – Forest Land.
Game Overview
During your adventure in the game, 3 main aspects will set the pace of your journey:
- Exploration: During your exploration in this vast land, you’ll be able to make great discoveries… And you’ll also find some useful materials and loot some vehicle parts! But how can these materials and items be useful?
- Thriving: Some of these materials will be used to help the town of Spino to thrive. You’ll find out many things about Spino during your adventure, and one of your roles will be to act as a hero by helping its inhabitants and newcomers. Hopefully, helping the town of Spino to thrive will allow you to enjoy more aspects of Sand Land…
- Customization: In fact, accomplishing some Spino quests will unlock new services, such as vehicle customization and shops… Allowing to explore more and more of this vast region…
As you may have guessed, you will need to harness these 3 aspects of the game to move forward in the main questline, which will lead you to solve the Sand Land plot …
Characters
Beelzebub
Beelzebub is the son of Lucifer and thus the "Fiend Prince”...
Demons have been seen as really evil, but he has a heart of gold. Joining Rao on his journey to give him something to do, Beelzebub lends his enhanced sight and demonic strength to fight against the King.
Rao
An elderly man, Rao seeks to free the people of Sand Land from the King's pocket. He joins the team in Sand Land, in search of the Legendary Spring. He has experience operating a tank, which makes one wonder how many other secrets he's hiding."
Thief
An expert at stealing and one of the wisest demons, Thief is recruited by Beelzebub to accompany them in searching for water.
He gains an affection for driving during their quest, and often fights with Beelzebub for turns driving their tank.
Lucifer
Lucifer is THE great king of demons, the one that unites all demons in this desertic land. Well, he also happens to be Beelzebub's father, and he won't let him play too many video games.
General Are
Rao's replacement in the King's army, Are is the son of one of the men that died trying to destroy the supposed weapon. Although he actively pursues Rao to avenge his father, he eventually joins him in bringing down the King after learning the truth surrounding his father's death.
Supreme Commander Zeu
The true antagonist of Sand Land, Zeu is the aging commander of the King's forces. Due to his failing body, Zeu is confined to a floating robotic lift.
He was the one who ordered the attack on the Picchi people, who were creating a machine to produce water.
Ann
Ann is THE ace mechanic the team needed! Her role in Sand Land is to help build and customize epic vehicles to drive a path to the Legendary Spring... and more.
General Rosetta
General Rosetta is a Forest Land's Army General. Serious and ruthless, she excels in her position and won't let our team win without a fight!
General Krowa
Despite his rough and ready manner, General Krowa of the Forest Land Army is a kind gentleman, who cares deeply for his fellow soldiers… we cannot say the same for his enemies.
General Epi
The cynical Forest Land's Army General Epi takes great pride in both his beard and glasses, which he spends a lot of time maintaining.
Is he this maniac on the battlefield? That is still to be discovered.
Muniel
Muniel is an angel from the Celestial World. While he claims to be a brave hero, it seems that he has some issues with demons…
Vehicles
Have you ever thought about driving freely across vast lands in your own mode of transportation? Two wheels, four wheels, jet planes, or even claws?
In Sand Land, you can find anything you want to explore the world. And many of them also have combat capabilities... which can be quite useful in SAND LAND!
More about the universe
Bandai Namco Entertainment together with Bandai Namco Filmworks Inc. and Shueisha Inc. announced the SAND LAND project in 2022, revolving around SAND LAND.
This project transcribes the world, characters and vehicles of SAND LAND, an original work by Akira Toriyama, the author of DRAGON BALL and Dr. Slump.
The manga was serialized in the Weekly Shonen Jump in 2000, and later published worldwide.
SAND LAND project reunites various partners together to create a wide variety of content and develop SAND LAND into a full IP.
Fans and people interested by the SAND LAND universe will be able to enjoy the IP in various ways:
- Video Game: Through the SAND LAND video game, players will be totally immersed into Akira Toriyama’s work, and will discover many aspects of this unique universe in a wonderful way thanks to interactions with world, characters, environment and quests!
